Agent network planning for Nigeria

Where should your next agents go?

Put your agent register and monthly transactions on a map of where adults live. See where people still have no agent within reach, and which of your agents sit too close together.

Every workspace starts as a 14-day evaluation on sample data. Kubinu staff open it after your request.

The question

You know how many agents you have. Do you know who they reach?

A register lists agent IDs, addresses and status. It does not say how many adults live within a 30-minute walk of an agent, where several of your agents share one street, which agents are more than an hour's drive from a branch where they can rebalance cash, or which terminals were last used away from the position they are registered at. Kubinu Agents answers those four questions from files you already hold.

What you see

What the screens show.

01

Reach, cell by cell

Every populated cell of about 0.1 km², shaded by the minutes it takes an adult living there to get to your nearest active agent, on foot or by road. Your rebalancing points and the mapped markets sit on the same map.

02

Recruitment zones, ranked

Places where many adults have no agent within reach, largest first. Each zone carries its evidence: the adults not served, the markets inside it and their market days, other access points nearby, and proposed sites with coordinates.

03

Agents in the wrong place, and why

A list of agents that are dormant, crowded by your own agents, short of adults nearby or far from a place to rebalance cash, and of terminals last seen outside their geo-fence. Each flag is explained in a sentence. A network report for the quarter prints on four pages.

How it works

From your register to a plan in four steps.

  1. 01

    Request a workspace

Tell us who you are and which states you work in. Kubinu staff open a 14-day evaluation workspace that holds sample data, so you can try every screen before you send us anything.

  2. 02

    Upload your register

Agents with their positions first, then terminals, monthly transaction totals and your branches and ATMs. CSV or Excel, in the columns you already use. Every row we cannot take is listed with the reason.

  3. 03

    The analysis runs

Each time a month of transactions is saved, the network is worked out again: travel time from every populated cell to your nearest active agent, on foot and by road.

  4. 04

    Act on it

Open the map, read the ranked zones and the agent list, export the tables for your regional managers and print the quarterly report.

What you need to bring

Files your systems already produce.

No new survey and no new system. An agent register with a latitude and a longitude for each agent is enough to start. Each further file adds to what the screens can show.

  • Agents

Your agent register: one row per agent with its ID and position. Every map and figure starts here.

  • Terminals

One row per payment terminal: the agent it belongs to, where it was registered and where it was last seen. Used for the geo-fence screen.

  • Monthly transactions

One row per agent for one month: how many transactions and their value. A network analysis starts by itself when a month is saved.

  • Rebalancing points

Where an agent can top up or deposit cash: your branches, ATMs and cash centres, one row each.

  • Other access points

Optional. Other providers' agents or outlets you know of, so a gap they already serve is not counted as empty.

What it costs

Per state, per month.

A workspace is a subscription for the states you choose. It starts as a 14-day evaluation on sample data; after that it runs on a plan priced per state, per month.

Price on request

The price depends on the states you work in. Tell us which, and we will send a quote.

The data behind it

Open data, named and dated.

Adults are people aged 15 and over in WorldPop's estimates for 2025: a modelled estimate, not a count. Travel time is worked out from OpenStreetMap roads with no traffic in the model, so it is a planning measure and not a journey time. Boundaries come from OCHA and markets from GRID3. The method and its limits are published in full.

Questions

Asked before signing up.

What is an evaluation workspace?

A workspace that runs for 14 days on sample data: a made-up agent network in Lagos, Ogun and Kano with terminals and twelve months of transactions. You can open every screen before you send us anything. When it ends it is read-only for 14 days and then locks, unless you move to a plan.

Who opens a workspace?

Kubinu staff, after you send the request form and we have spoken. There is no sign-up page. Your workspace admin then invites the rest of your team.

What do we need to send?

An agent register with an ID, a latitude and a longitude for each agent, as CSV or Excel. Terminals with their registered and last-seen positions, monthly transaction totals for each agent, and your branches, ATMs and cash centres each add more. We do not take BVN, NIN, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth or names of people.

Our register has addresses but no coordinates. Can we still use it?

Not as it stands. Each agent needs a latitude and a longitude. We do not turn addresses into positions, because a guessed position would put an agent in the wrong place on the map.

When does an adult count as within reach?

When an agent that transacted in the month is within 30 minutes on foot of the cell the adult lives in. That is the starting setting: a workspace can change the minutes or measure by road instead. Adults are people aged 15 and over in WorldPop's estimates for 2025.

How far can the travel times be trusted?

They are a planning measure. Walking is 4.5 km/h in a straight line between cells about 350 m apart, across any land, so a real walk round a wall or a stream is longer. Driving uses one assumed speed for each class of OpenStreetMap road, with no traffic, no ferries and no rainy-season closures, and a rural track that is not mapped makes a place look more remote by road than it is. The sources page gives the method and its limits.

Is a geo-fence flag a finding against an agent?

No. It says a terminal was last seen further from its registered position than the radius set in your workspace, which starts at 70 metres. It is a screening aid for your compliance team, not a compliance ruling, and it takes the positions in your file as given.

Can a super agent see the whole network?

No. A super agent's sign-in lists only the agents that carry its ID, in the states it is given, and it cannot download a file. For those states it also sees how far the network as a whole reaches, in hexagons of about 36 km² and by state and LGA, and where the recruitment zones are. It is never shown another super agent's agents, or how many stand near its own. A regional manager sees only the states they are given.

Where is our data kept, and who can see it?

On a server we rent from Hetzner Online GmbH, a hosting company based in Germany. The server is outside Nigeria, so before you upload real agent data we sign a data processing agreement with you and agree the basis for the transfer. Until then a workspace holds sample data only. Inside a workspace people see what their role allows. Kubinu staff enter only through a support session with a stated reason, which is written to your audit log.

How do we pay?

By invoice, in naira, per state per month. Prices exclude VAT.

Request a workspace

Tell us which states you work in.

We answer within two working days from hello@kubinu.com. No account is created until we have spoken, and your first workspace holds sample data only.
